Hoax
A hoax is a deliberate deception, typically intended to trick or mislead people into believing something false as true. Hoaxes can involve fabricated stories, events, or artifacts, and are often spread through media, social networks, or word of mouth. They may be created for various reasons, including humor, political gain, financial profit, or social commentary. Notable historical hoaxes include the Piltdown Man and the War of the Worlds radio broadcast. Hoaxes can have significant social, cultural, or economic impacts.
