Czechia & Slovakia
Czechoslovakia was a sovereign state in Central Europe that existed from 1918 to 1992. It peacefully split into two independent countries: the Czech Republic (Czechia) and Slovakia, on January 1, 1993, in what is known as the Velvet Divorce. Czechia is located to the west, with Prague as its capital, while Slovakia lies to the east, with Bratislava as its capital. Both countries are now members of the European Union and NATO. For more information, see Czechoslovakia on Wikipedia.
