Beer
Beer is an alcoholic beverage produced by the fermentation of cereal grains, primarily barley, though wheat, maize, and rice are also used. The brewing process involves the conversion of starches into sugars, which are then fermented by yeast. Hops are commonly added for bitterness, flavor, and preservation. Beer is one of the oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic drinks in the world, with numerous styles such as lager, ale, stout, and pilsner. It typically contains 3–12% alcohol by volume.
