Some Like It Lukewarm

I don’t like hot coffee. I mean... I love coffee, but I hate when it’s so scalding it burns my lips at the very first sip.
The world of coffee lovers can be classified into three categories by temperature. For some, it’s not real coffee unless it’s boiling. Others swear by it iced. But in between there lies a whole population that suffers in silence, blowing on their cups pathetically.
So here’s my invention idea — a coffee machine where you can actually choose the serving temperature. Picture yourself at a café ordering: “Two cappuccinos, please, one at 45 degrees and the other at 60.” Wouldn't that be neat?
Complete the experience with cups featuring built-in signalling as to whether the drink has cooled to your perfect zone. Pour it hot but avoid sipping until the china emits a warm green glow or — for the nerds, a smartphone notification.
And why stop at coffee? Soup could use the same upgrade. Imagine a nice bowl of pho that politely rings a tiny gong and whispers: “Now, my dear, I’m safe.” Or even a tub that hums a lullaby when the water climbs past polar chill, stops shy of lobster boil, and settles into the sweet spot for a baby bath.
Because some like it hot, some like it freezing... but most like it lukewarm, in the Goldilocks zone between nirvana and agony.
