Afghanistan
Afghanistan is a landlocked country in South-Central Asia, bordered by Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and China. It has a population of around 40 million, with Kabul as its capital and largest city. Ethnically diverse, its main groups are Pashtuns, Tajiks, Hazaras, and Uzbeks. Afghanistan has experienced prolonged conflict, most recently under Taliban control since 2021. Its economy is primarily agricultural. Afghanistan has a rich history as part of ancient trade routes, including the Silk Road. The official languages are Pashto and Dari.
