Sonification

**Sonification** is the use of non-speech audio to convey information or perceptualize data. By mapping data values to sound parameters such as pitch, volume, or timbre, sonification transforms patterns, trends, or features in data into audible signals. Applications of sonification are found in scientific research, medical monitoring, navigation for the visually impaired, and data analysis. It is related to, but distinct from, audification, which directly translates data into sound. Sonification offers an alternative or complement to visualization, enabling users to interpret complex or multi-dimensional data through auditory perception.
